John is the Managing Partner at HSOC Financial and Business Advisors.
John's key role is in coordinating the delivery of high level professional services to clients by matching HSOC skills with clients needs.Having trained with Hamill Spence O'Connell qualifying as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, John initially worked in the Audit and Compliance Department. John was instrumental in establishing the Financial Services Department enabling the firm bring a broader range of services to clients. John is currently involved with advising high net worth individuals and corporates in all areas of wealth management, marrying the firms services with client needs in an ever changing business environment.
Simone is a member of the Institute of Taxation having previously obtained a Masters Degree in Economics & Finance, NUI Maynooth. Simone trained with Ernst & Young, Dublin providing specialist advice to both individuals and employers on all aspects of personal taxation, social insurance, remuneration and emigration. She broadened her consultancy and tax planning skills across a diverse range of taxes with Brian Hennebry & Associates in Waterford, a specialist tax advisory practice.
Simone joined the Firm in May 2013 and is responsibility for ensuring all clients’ taxation needs are met. She provides innovative tax solutions to a broad range of clients across all sectors.
Hugh is a qualified accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, having previously obtained a BA Hons degree in Accounting from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.
Hugh Joined HSOC in 2001 and became a Partner in the Audit & Compliance Department in February 2008.
Hugh has developed considerable experience in advising a broad range of clients including both indigenous and multi-national business, across many industries. He has significant experience in advising clients involved in the construction, and retail as well as leisure and hospitality industries. He has a particular interest in advising clients in start-ups scenarios and on the outsourcing of accounting and back office support functions.
Shane is a qualified accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Ireland, having previously obtained a BA in Business Studies and Professional Diploma in Accounting from Dublin City University.
Shane trained with Grant Thornton, gaining broad audit and accounting experience during his time there. He joined HSOC Financial & Business Advisors in 2008 and initially concentrated on large audit clients and consolidations.
Shane became Manager of the restructuring and recovery section in 2009 and Partner of the same Department in 2011. He advises clients who are in financial difficulty and helps them create business strategies to assist in turning a company around. Shane provides management account, budgetary and cash flow projection services to assist clients as part of a business strategy. In some cases a business strategy is not an option. Shane can advise clients as to the most efficient form of winding up in these instances, and can also act as liquidator of a company should the need arise.
Shane completed the Diploma in Forensic Accounting in 2010 and has been involved in many forensic cases ranging from Revenue investigations to divorce and civil matters. He has also been involved in mediation work on behalf of clients.
Colm has been in practice for more than 20 years and has developed extensive experience in advising a broad range of clients including construction, property development, manufacturing and engineering clients.
As well as being a Director of the Audit & Compliance department, he has advised a significant number of start-up operations over the years.
Vicky is a qualified accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland, having previously obtained a Bachelor of Business (Honours) Degree from Waterford Institute of Technology.
Vicky began her accounting career with HSOC Financial & Business Advisors (“HSOC”) and upon completion of her training contract and FAE exams, concentrated on larger audit clients and consolidations. Vicky then moved on to work with Grant Thornton, further developing her knowledge of audit and accounting during her time there. When a role for Audit & Compliance Manager became available within HSOC, Vicky decided to return, having gained sufficient experience in Grant Thornton. Today Vicky is responsible for a portfolio of clients and ensuring that all client requests are met without undue delay and files are ready for partner review.
Vicky has a particular interest in preparing financial statements both individual company and group accounts and has a keen eye for detail. Vicky recently obtained a Certificate in UK & Irish GAAP (FRS 100-102).
Fiona is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants.
She studied in the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design, and Technology (IADT) where she obtained an Honours Degree in Business Studies specialising in entrepreneurship. Fiona trained in a small Dublin based accountancy practice where she gained excellent experience of the SME sector. In 2012 she successfully completed a Diploma in Forensic Accounting.
Fiona is a Manager of the Firms Audit & Compliance department. Her role includes client relationship management for a portfolio of clients over a broad range of sectors including retail, professional services, and telecommunications.
Fiona is also involved in the setup of new companies and providing company secretarial services and advice.
Rachel is a qualified Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Chartered Accountants. She holds a BA Honors Degree in Business and Politics from Trinity College.
Rachel started her career in Deloitte after which she worked as a Senior Financial Accountant in Maynooth University. After travelling in Australia, Rachel worked in London for Thomson Reuters. On her return to Ireland she took up the role as Client Manager with HSOC, where she is primarily responsible for Financial Reporting & Compliance for a portfolio of Irish and International Clients.
